Day 1 Afternoon

Ok.... having some technical problems with this blog. But oh well. I will let it think over the weekend and try again on Monday.

I am off of work tomorrow to prepare for our open house party on Saturday. We are having family members over from 1-5 and then friends for a party starting at 7:00. As of today the only family members attending are my grandparents, my parents, and Scott's parents. I am a little disapointed in the other 25 members of our family seeing as I sent out invitations a month ago and now all of a sudden they have other things to do. Also note that only 3 parties RSVP'ed that the would not be attending due to other previous engagements, which still leaves 20 people unaccounted for. A little disapointed in the family support here. I mean how often do your oldest children, the oldest grand children, and oldest niece & nephew of both families buy a house?

Our friends, on the other hand are a different story. There are about 35 confirmed people attending. I also expect a few more that have not RSVP'ed but know about the shin-dig.

So as you can quess I am quite the mess right now. We have spent the last week cleaning and decorating in time for the party. But too many things still have to be done, hence the day off on Friday to clean, finishing decoraitng and for food prep. My mommy is also taking the day off to help. Scott's mom had offered to help, but that made me feel incompetent, so I told her that I didn't need any help. It's ok for my mommy to know that I am not the best housekeeper in the world, but not my future mother-in-law. I will just leave it at that.

It should be a really fun time and I am looking forward to our friends and new neighbors coming over Saturday night. I will, of course, be checking in on Monday morning to tell you all the jucy details!
